Afe drags KSA to ABUAD •Joins Millie Jackson for Jadeite Ball

Activities marking the first convocation ceremonies of the Afe Babalola University, Ado-ekiti, Ekiti State, begins from Thursday and runs till Monday.

Next Sunday, King Sunny Ade will perform for special guests that should include president Goodluck Jonathan and former president, olusegun Obasanjo at the multipurpose hall of the private university from 7.30pm.
Excited ABUAD students are also getting set to see the music king perform on their campus for the first time today, says Tommy Ojoge, the students union president of the institution.
R gathered that the president and chancellor of ABUAD, Chief Afe Babalola, has gone all out to indulge the less than 1000 students, “and what better way to do it than by having KSA come to our campus to perform”, Ayo said. He added that “plans are on to also bring a comedian and a hip-hop act to ABUAD for the celebration.
Afe, who KSA told R that he regarded as a father, thanked the music maestro for his contributions to the convocation ceremony in a dimension that was not further disclosed.
On Thursday, convocation games will hold at the spirit arena between 4 - 6pm, while a book launch and film show follows the next day at the Owolabi hall between 12 and 7pm.
Next month again, King Sunny Ade will be joined on stage in Lagos by American, Millie Jackson, at the Jadeite Ball.
Her song, Love Is A Dangerous Game, was a hit in Nigeria in the 80s.
The Ball berths in Lagos Nigeria on November 1 and will offer a premium platform featuring another first in Nigerian entertainment circle: “King Sunny Ade Through-The-years live concert”.
This will be a landmark celebration of KSA’s 50 years of performing on stage and also an opportunity to see for the first time King Sunny Ade dish out his best of hits through the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and the 20th century.
The Jadeite Ball Nigerian version will be a celebration of the successful and outstanding Nigerian individuals and businesses in an exclusive and luxurious evening reflecting the best of times for the selected few.
