KSA marks 67th birthday in style
IT was a busy weekend for the King of world beats, King Sunny Ade (KSA), at his hometown, Ondo State, when he was joined by his family, friends and colleagues in the music industry to celebrate his two-in-one celebrations.
His home had become a carnival ground of sorts, a week to the event, with KSA’s sons and daughters as well as well wishers preparing to hold a superlative birthday bash for their father. The celebration, which coincided with the 1st year anniversary of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG), Throne of Mercy, KSA compound, Igba, witnessed the presence of the crème of many artistes in the music industry and other sectors of the economy.
Speaking at the event on Sunday, the pastor-in-charge of the Throne of Mercy Santuary, Pastor Ayo Ajisola described KSA as a fulfilled man who has remained a true ambassador of music for more than four decades. “We are happy that KSA is returning to God and that he’s starting the journey as a member of the Redeemed family. It shows that God really loves him”, he said.
Tagged ‘Hurray, KSA is 67’, Ondo town came alive on Sunday morning at the special Sunday service and thanksgiving as more celebrities such as Dele Abiodun, Sunday Omobolanle (Aluwe), Evangelist Bola Are, Dunni Olanrewaju (Opelope Anointing), representatives of Ondo and Osun states’ governments among others felicitated with the juju maestro.
The celebrant, KSA, had on September 20th visited some orphanage homes, including a courtesy call on prison inmates where he distributed foods and gifts to the inmates and old peoples’ homes. Prizes were also given to primary school pupils who emerged winners in KSA’s quiz completion.
Fuji singer, Abass Akande, who is also known as Obesere, was on hand to entertain the guests, who, despite the heavy downpour that evening, danced gleefully.
